The
first time I ever drove a car was when I was about 12 years old. I was at my uncle’s
house in Williamston where he owns
about 50acers of open land. My uncle asked me if I had ever driven a car before
and I said no he handed me the keys to his truck and said you drive ill
ride. As I got into the truck the world
changed I sunk into the seat it was as if the world doubled and I had shrunk. I
slowly put the key into the ignition and started the truck. I put the truck
into drive and slowly let off the brake, the truck started to move.

I wasn’t sure if I was suppose to put my foot
on the gas and make it go or to slowly let it go without the gas. So I pushed
down on the all the way thinking it wasn’t very much and the tires started to
spin and mud started to fly everywhere. I quickly slammed on the brake to make
the wheels stop and the whole truck jerked. So I tried it again, slowly
pressing on the gas the truck started to go and I thought I got the hang of it
so I sped up to about 30mph and it felt good cursing around the farm in the
truck.
Imran, I really enjoyed reading about your first car ride. Something similar to this happen to me too I was about 13 and my silly dad let me drive in a public garage. I hit the gas all the way down and the BMW started speeding like crazy. My dad was just screaming "Hit the BREAK!!". I almost crashed the car. My dad was so upset saying he thought I would know how to drive a car because I saw him driving one for 13 years.
ReplyDeleteMy second time driving a car was on a parking lot with my sister and that worked out way better.
Hey Imran,
ReplyDeleteI think it's challenging to drive a car or truck without previous experiences. It almost sounded like your uncle knew that you would handle the truck around the farm and so you did. I don't have any experiences with driving myself but I can imagine how it might to drive a car for the first time.
